The activity I have chosen is the K, W, L (know, wonder, learn). I will use this activity in social science to teach the different landscapes (natural and artificial).
In order to work this topic, I will show the students one picture with two different landscapes. One of them a natural landscape where we can only see nature (trees, mountains, a river…) and no influence of the human being. The other one will be a picture of a city where we can clearly see the action of the people (buildings, roads, cars…).
Watching at these two pictures, students will have to write all they know about landscapes, the differences they see… (this is the Know part of the activity). Then, they will write all the curiosities or doubts they’ve got about the pictures and the landscapes (this is the Wonder part of the activity).
At the end of the topic, students will write all the new things they’ve learnt about the landscapes. (this is the Learn part of the activity).
As I will use pictures, students can write all they know about it using sentences or just words they know, so all of them will be able to do the activity no matter their level or their abilities.
